Shringaar is an intimate short film, and intimacy asks the camera to come close without intruding. The cinematography works at the scale of gesture — hands, glances, the small adjustments people make when they think no one is watching.
The approach favoured longer focal lengths, soft honest light and patient, held frames — letting performance breathe inside the composition instead of cutting it into pieces. The palette stays quiet so that skin, fabric and ornament carry the film's texture.
This is the quietest register of the craft — the cinematography of restraint — and the discipline it demands informs every frame I shoot, in any genre.
